[FAIE: Economic Law] Corporate Bankruptcy: A Practical Perspective

In order to equip students with essential knowledge and develop their skills, the program was organized to provide participants with an authentic and in-depth perspective on the risks faced by enterprises that go bankrupt in the business sector. The Economic Law Club has therefore organized a seminar entitled “Corporate Bankruptcy – A Practical Perspective” to help students gain a clearer understanding of the realities faced by enterprises.

While at university, we are only able to approach legal regulations and hypothetical situations. However, when entering the professional environment, we will encounter countless complex and diverse circumstances. During the seminar, Legal Consultant Pham Dinh Duc – Director of the Bien Hoa Legal Consultancy Center, with more than 40 years of experience – shared valuable knowledge with Law students in the session titled “Corporate Bankruptcy – A Practical Perspective.” Through this seminar, students had the opportunity to uncover the realities hidden behind the curtain of “failure,” draw valuable lessons for themselves, and gain additional motivation to pursue success in their future journeys.

At the seminar, more than 50 students were randomly divided into groups to resolve practical case scenarios. Accompanying them was Legal Consultant Nguyen Van Ry – specialist of the Bien Hoa Legal Consultancy Center, who is also a former student of the Economic Law major. This arrangement helped the groups become more cohesive, engage in lively discussions, and present highly insightful responses. Unlike regular classroom settings, where students often remain within their self-selected “comfort zones,” the Organizing Committee created opportunities for students to be randomly assigned to groups, enabling them to meet new peers and further develop teamwork skills in presenting legal grounds and personal viewpoints on the given cases.

Through the seminar, students not only learned how to handle legal situations related to corporate bankruptcy but also how to minimize potential damage for relevant stakeholders. This provided them with a clearer understanding of professional practice and allowed them to accumulate valuable experience for the future. By combining knowledge sharing with practical exercises, the seminar offered students an excellent learning experience and encouraged constructive and in-depth discussions, helping them enhance teamwork skills and gain learning opportunities from experienced Legal Consultants. This was a valuable opportunity to explore and gain a solid understanding of the field of bankruptcy, contributing to future career development. It also marked an important step in strengthening legal skills and boosting students’ confidence in facing real-world professional challenges.
