As part of the Vietnam-Singapore Tech Connect Forum, held during the state visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to Singapore, LHU, based in Dong Nai, made a significant mark by exchanging a MoU with the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Singapore under the witness of high-ranking leaders from both nations.
More than a diplomatic activity, the event reflected the image of a university in Dong Nai, Vietnam, steadily strengthening its international integration and proactively participating in the regional ecosystem for technology, innovation, and sustainable growth.
From an international tech forum to global partnerships
The Vietnam–Singapore Tech Connect Forum brought together some of the leading government authorities, technology enterprises, research organizations, universities, and innovation networks from both nations. The forum served as a platform to discuss, connect, and strengthen collaboration in future strategic trends, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital transformation, semiconductor technology, integrated circuit (IC) training and research, innovative startups, tech investment, and green growth.
LHU's presence at the forum and its official exchange of an MoU with GEN Singapore – the world’s largest entrepreneurship network operating in more than 180 countries – not only open up opportunities for international collaboration for faculty and students, but also reflect the University's long-term development strategy: technology, innovation, and global connectivity as its key development drivers.
AI and digital transformation: The strategic path of an applied university
In recent years, LHU has consistently made its mark in emerging technologies, particularly in AI and digital transformation. In early 2026, the "Your Voice" AI project, developed by LHU faculty and students, won the Silver Award at the Global Best M-Gov Award held in the UAE. This prestigious international award for community-focused technology applications underscores the LHU team's capabilities in AI research and product development.
Beyond competitions, the University has gradually integrated AI into teaching, research, and practical application projects, contributing to the preparation of a workforce ready to meet the growing demands of digital transformation in Vietnam and the region.
Investing in semiconductors: Preparing for future workforce demands
As the semiconductor industry emerges as a global strategic sector, LHU has been among the pioneering universities investing in integrated circuit (IC) training and research. The University has established a Semiconductor IC Center and launched a Semiconductor Lab equipped with modern training facilities to support the development of high-quality human resources for the semiconductor industry.
Collaborative programs with tech enterprises and international partners are being expanded, providing students with early exposure to research, design, and semiconductor manufacturing environments - a field widely regarded as a "gold mine" for future talent.
Innovative entrepreneurship: From student projects to global ecosystems
The partnership with GEN Singapore marks a key milestone in LHU’s strategy to develop an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
In his role as a member of the Advisory and Support Council for Startups in Southern Vietnam and Co-Head of the Design Thinking Village at National Techfest, Dr. Nguyen Van Tan, Vice Rector of LHU, remarked on the collaboration: "Through this network, students gain direct access to international startup support programs, investors, experts, and global entrepreneurship competitions. This is a valuable opportunity that few universities have direct access to".
For years, LHU has actively fostered a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship within its learning environment through technology projects, applied research, and engineering innovation competitions. The success of its Robocon, IoT, and AI teams, as well as its international research projects, clearly demonstrates the innovative capacity of its students.
Towards sustainable development and future tech ecosystems
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, Rector of LHU, stated "A defining feature of LHU's development strategy is not merely chasing short-term technology trends, but building an educational ecosystem aligned with innovation, technology transfer, and sustainable development. Through this approach, international partnerships, applied research, industry engagement, and investments in emerging technologies all aim to prepare a workforce capable of adapting to the digital economy, the green economy, and the global workplace".
From remarkable achievements in AI, robotics, semiconductor technology, and applied research to its expanding partnerships with leading international organizations, LHU is gradually affirming its position as a dynamic applied university, ready to integrate deeper into the regional innovation value chain.
LHU's presence at the Vietnam–Singapore Tech Connect Forum is not only a source of pride for its faculty, staff, and students. It also serves as a testament to the growing international integration of a Vietnamese university that is striving to connect knowledge, technology, and global opportunities to create practical value for learners, businesses, and the community.
In an era where technology is shaping the future, LHU is not just a participant. It is steadily becoming part of the innovation ecosystem driving that transformation.
