LHU receives certificates of quality accreditation from AUN-QA, ABET and CEA- VNUHCM (MOET)

On April 26, 2024, LHU solemnly held a ceremony to receive Certificate of Institutional Accreditation - 2nd cycle by CEA - VNUHCM (MOET), Certificates of AUN-QA assessment standards for 4 more training programs (Japanese Studies, Construction Engineering Technology, Finance - Banking, and Automation and Control Engineering Technology), and ABET for 2 programs (Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology and Information Engineering Technology). LHU is the first university in Dong Nai to meet U.S. accreditation standards.

LHU welcomed the presence of esteemed delegates: Mr. Huynh Van Chuong – Director of Quality Assurance Department of MOET; Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy - Director of Higher Education Department of MOET; Mr. Vien Hong Tien - Chief of Office of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Ta Quang Truong - Director of Dong Nai Provincial Department of Information and Communications; Mr. Tan Kay Chuan - Technical Expert - Chief of Quality Officer to the AUN-QA and members of the AUN-QA delegation; Ms. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam - Director of VNU HCM - Center for Education Accreditation.

On the LHU's side, there were Dr. Do Thi Lan Dai - Chairwoman of the University Council; Dr. Lam Thanh Hien - Rector; Members of Board of Rectors; Heads, Deputy Heads of affiliated units along with faculty members and related staff.

LHU is one of the leading higher education institutions in higher education quality accreditation according to the Vietnamese quality standards of the MOET. It also aims for international higher education quality accreditation.

Specifically, in 2018 LHU was the first higher education institution in Dong Nai to achieve the 1st cycle Certificate of Institutional Accreditation issued by the MOET.

From the 2019-2023 period, LHU had 10 training programs meeting AUN-QA standards and became the university with the most programs achieving AUN-QA certification in Vietnam.

Especially in 2023, for the first time, LHU had two training programs (Information Engineering Technology and Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology) accredited by ABET (American-based Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology); concurrently completing the 2nd cycle educational institution accreditation according to the MOET's accreditation standards.

At the ceremony, Dr. Do Thi Lan Dai, Chairwoman of the LHU Council said that achieving an international accreditation certificate not only recognizes the University's educational quality but also creates opportunities for learners' knowledge expansion and international integration. Ms. Dai also pledged to continue enhancing education quality, implementing continuous improvement to meet the society and learners' increasing needs. Quality accreditation will provide LHU with important information to become a leading higher education institution in Vietnam.
