    Lac Hong University (LHU) is committed to improving access to basic services for all, particularly in the areas of health and standard of living through directly implemented training workshops and programs.

    I. Health

    (covering Nutrition, Child mortality)

    Programmes

    1. Free Health Checkups, Medicine Distribution, and Gift-Giving Program for Vulnerable Populations in Thien Tan Commune
    On August 18, 2024, the LHU Student Union, in collaboration with Long Chau Pharmacy, the Vinh Cuu District Young Doctors Club, and the Thien Tan Commune Youth Union, directly organized a humanitarian program offering free medical checkups, medicine, and gifts to 100 vulnerable households in Thien Tan Commune, Vinh Cuu District.
    This initiative reflects the dedication of LHU pharmacy students and healthcare volunteers to improving healthcare access for disadvantaged and immigrant families. It contributes to the University’s broader mission of promoting social welfare and enhancing community health.

    Training Workshops

    1. Webinar “Nutrition Recommendations and Food Safety during the COVID-19 Pandemic”
    Held at 7:30 PM on September 29, 2021, this online webinar was directly organized by the Dong Nai Chemistry Association and the Dong Nai Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-department, with Lac Hong University and its Faculty of Food Science and Technology as key supporting partners.
    The event aimed to provide accurate information about nutrition, the importance of balanced diets, and safe food practices during COVID-19. It featured expert speakers including:

    • Dr. Nguyen Huynh Bach Son Long – President of the Dong Nai Chemistry Association and Dean of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, LHU

    • MSc. Ngo Vo Thien Nhan – Food Safety Inspector, Thu Duc City

    • Ms. Hoang Dien Chau – Deputy Head, Dong Nai Food Safety Sub-department
      The webinar attracted a large number of participants nationwide via Zoom, Facebook Live, and YouTube. The program successfully raised public awareness about nutrition and food hygiene, helping communities maintain health and safety during the pandemic.

    2. Talk Show “Nutrition and Life”
    Understanding the challenges faced by students during exam seasons, LHU directly organized the talk show “Nutrition and Life” to guide students in maintaining proper nutrition, rest, and health management for optimal study performance. The event equipped students with practical tips for balanced diets, sleep routines, and mental well-being.

    3. Seminar on “Knowledge for Preventing Bone, Joint, and Stroke Diseases”
    With the participation of 158 female educators and staff, LHU directly held a seminar featuring MSc. Nguyen Thuy Linh, an experienced speaker from Project 818. The event enhanced awareness of common health issues and provided preventive guidance. Participants included LHU’s Party Committee, Board of Trustees, administrators, and teaching staff. The seminar contributed to improving health literacy and supporting women’s well-being at the university.

    II. Standard of living

    Programmes

    1. Water Purifier Donation Project
    As part of the Green Summer Volunteer Campaign 2024, the Youth Union and Student Association of LHU directly implemented the project “Giving Water Filtration Systems” at Phu Xuan Primary School, Tan Phu District, Dong Nai Province.
    The initiative improved access to clean water and enhanced study conditions for local students in remote areas. It also promoted digital transformation in local schools and spread the spirit of youth volunteerism and community responsibility.

    2. The Compassionate Home Project
    LHU directly supported disadvantaged families by building safe and sustainable homes.

    • A 50 m² house worth 60 million VND was built for Ms. Le Hoang Dung in Ma Da Commune, funded by faculty, staff, students, and the university’s Charity Association.

    • Another home of equal value was donated to Mr. Ha Van Tri, a 62-year-old bookseller, enabling him to create a reading space for local children.
      These projects reflect LHU’s compassion and contribution to poverty reduction and social stability.

    3. Computer Donation for Disadvantaged Students
    On October 29, 2024, LHU, together with donors, directly organized the “Old Computer Donation Program” in Thanh Hoi Commune, Tan Uyen District, Binh Duong Province.
    Five refurbished computers were given to underprivileged students to support their online learning and digital literacy. The program embodied LHU’s vision of promoting equal access to knowledge and technology for all learners.

    4. Donation of Computer Labs to Border Schools
    On August 29, 2025, Lac Hong University (LHU) in partnership with Lac Hong Bilingual School (LHBS) directly donated two computer labs worth 300 million VND to schools in border areas.
    This meaningful contribution helped students and teachers gain better access to information technology, modern learning tools, and essential digital skills—key components for success in the era of digital transformation.

    Through these directly supplied training workshops and community programmes, Lac Hong University demonstrates its deep commitment to improving basic living standards, healthcare access, and educational opportunities. Each initiative reflects the University’s core values of service, sustainability, and social responsibility, ensuring that the benefits of education and development reach even the most vulnerable groups.
